Nissan 240sx Project

Our Nissan 240sx project page is somewhat different from our other pages. Not exactly auto detailing, but I thought since i'm rebuilding this car it might be fun to show the different stages of progress.

I've been a big fan of the Nissan 240sx for years, since I was in high school in fact. I came across this 1993 240sx convertible last May and I knew I had to have it! The convertible is quite rare, 8320 produced, 4602 of them were built in 1993.

The car is in ok shape but it has lived a rough life. The condition the interior was in told me that it was not detailed very often. The carpet was light grey from the factory but appeared almost black from all the stains! The seats are worn out, the fabric is stretched and the foam is flat.

The exterior needs help! In most areas the 240 appeared to be very well looked after. However a quick look in the engine bay revealed some serious rust. The strut towers had rot to the point you could see the tires! Fixing the towers was the first thing that I addressed.

My 240sx was previously owned by a guy who attempted to modify it. He had good intentions however judging from the work he did, he cut a lot of corners and didn't take the time to do the work properly. As it stands, the 240 will not pass a safety inspection.

The goal for this car is to rebuild it in and out. Fix the rust, re-do the interior entirely, swap the engine, replace all the suspension components, new wheels/tires, and a complete repaint. My hope is to turn this car into a serious autocross competitor but I also want it to look great at a car show!

We hope that you will enjoy viewing the progress of this Nissan 240sx project as much as I am enjoying working on it. We invite you to view our facebook page for progress updates. You should Like our page while you are there!
